Holi is an auspicious Hindu festival which is celebrated with great pomp and show every year in March. At K.R. Mangalam World School in Panipat we celebrate this festival prior to the due date with our students. Teachers appointed at KRMWS tend to celebrate this occasion with students through different activities. The prominent reason for conducting these holi games for kids is that we aim to promote cultural importance amongst the students. Make Different Color Powders 

It’s obvious that Holi is all about colors. However, in the market there’s availability of colors mixed with harmful substances. Henceforth, we came up with this holi activity for kids where we ask them to make non-toxic color powders as per their preference. 

Essential Materials Required

• A strong baking tray.
• ⅓ water at room temperature
• Different types of liquid food colors.
• 1 cup cornstarch
• A bowl

Steps To Play

• Take a bowl to mix 1 cup of cornstarch and ⅓ room temperature water. 
• Keep mixing both the components until a slurry is made with the right texture.
• Pick your favourite liquid food color and add it to the slurry.
• You can continue adding the liquid color as per the shade you want. If you want a lighter shade then consider adding less amount of color
• Carefully, pour this entire slurry into the baking tray and let it dry for the next two days until it turns like a brick.
• Use a strong wooden scale to break the brick.
• Dip them inside the water and play with your peers.

Holi Bonfire Craft 

People celebrate “Holika Dahan” one day before Holi. However, we refrain from performing such activities at school. Thus, we came up with this holi activity for kids where one can make craft items inspired by this festival. Have a look below to know about the essential materials and necessary instructions. 

Essential Materials Required

• A pair of scissors
• A packet of glitter or glitter glue 
• Fevicol
• Pencil 
• 2 popsicle sticks 
• A brown marker or brown paint
• Red and orange colored paper 

Steps To Play

• Ask the children to trace their hands on the red and orange colored paper. 
• Use scissors to cut the traced hands. Don’t let the child use the scissors. 
• Instruct the child to paint the popsicle pairs using the brown color.
• Put glue in the centre of the popsicles and stick them in the X-shape.
• Next, apply the glue on both the hands in an overlapping manner. 
• Attach the popsicle sticks and traced hands using the glue and let it dry for sometime.
• Lastly, add glitter glue to add a sparkling effect.

Decorate Holi Buckets

Steps To Play

• Use corrugated sheet to make a two coasters
• Pick a jute cord and start wrapping the colored wool around it in gaps.
• Prefer to tie at the beginning and at the end of every colored strand.
• Stick them in a spiral pattern using Fevistick. 
• Your beautiful hand made coasters are ready.

• Pour the color and water inside the bowl and mix it
